Interview Questions

Tell us about your current role! What have you been working on?

Right now, I’m juggling two roles that I really enjoy. I’m the Founder & CEO of The AI Element, where we support charities, social enterprises and non-profits to use AI and automation in ways that are actually useful – helping them save time, reduce costs, and focus more on the work that matters. From automating repetitive admin to running practical AI training, it's all about making these tools accessible and impactful for mission-driven organisations.

At the same time, I’m the Technical Lead for AI and Automation at The King’s Fund, the UK’s leading health and care think tank. I lead on exploring how AI can support our internal teams – identifying opportunities, testing ideas, and turning them into real solutions. Most recently, I built an automation that replaced over 100 hours of tedious manual work, freeing up time for more meaningful, human-focused projects. It's been exciting to see the direct impact tech can have on how people work day-to-day.

Both roles keep me grounded in what’s possible when AI is done thoughtfully – and keep me learning constantly.

Reflecting on your time at LIS, what advice would you give to future cohorts as they start their journey?

Trust the process. We've been conditioned since birth to think and act in a certain way. Most notably, to sit down, be quiet and do as your told.

LIS pushes you out of these boundaries, thought patterns and way of life.

This brings upon lots of discomfort but it's part of the process. Enjoy the ups and downs, it's all part of the journey.

How do you feel about leaving LIS and entering the real working world? Do you feel prepared?

Yes. LIS teaches you that there is real value in questioning 'the way things are done'. That is hugely valuable in the workplace and because it's a unique way of thinking, it is clear to so many employers how much you can bring to the table.
