Curious to learn how interdisciplinary learning at LIS sets students up for making meaningful impact?
Join us for a webinar featuring our BASc graduate, Eleanor Jolliffe, whose capstone project investigated the spread of climate misinformation surrounding the UK’s Ultra-Low-Emission Zone (ULEZ) - one of the country’s most controversial climate policies.
Using NLP, data science, and visual semiotics, Eleanor analysed 50,000+ messages from Reddit and Telegram, revealing how misinformation thrives differently across platforms. Her insights culminated in a report for Climate Action Against Disinformation (CAAD), a global coalition of 50+ international organisations. Eleanor’s capstone is an exemplary showcase of how interdisciplinary learning at LIS helped her translate research into practical insights for building stronger, more resilient climate policy narratives.
