LIS singled out in major report on AI and education
LIS has been singled out in a major new report on AI and education by Anthony Seldon.
It’s held up as a leading example of how universities may need to change for the age of AI.
Britain’s Greatest Education Opportunity Ever, by Sir Anthony Seldon and Tim Bunting, argues that AI is moving faster than education can keep up, and that education now needs to rethink what it values and what it is preparing people for.
The report makes the case for education that is broader, less prematurely specialised and better at helping people connect knowledge across domains.
And LIS is described as:
“The clearest single expression of the trend.”
As AI gets better at producing work that once demonstrated knowledge or understanding, the report argues that education should put more weight on human judgement, creativity, interpretation, scepticism, ethical reasoning and the ability to connect ideas across domains.
