About
Rosita is a UCL BASc graduate living the polymath life with more than one career. She is a self-taught web engineer who loves building with code as well as traditional materials.
News
Rosita presented the New Approach to Materials and Making at LIS at the International Materials Education Symposium in Cambridge, 2023, and 2022.
Teaching
Rosita is the module lead for Materials and Making where she teaches materials science concepts alongside direct making, including blacksmithing, wood working and mycelium.
Rosita also teaches a Materials Perspective on Problems 1b, introducing students to think and solve problems through materials.
Research
Rosita is currently involved in wild land projects creating communities off grid and re-wilding. She is also planning a trip to China to learn traditional making techniques with textiles and dyes. She is still working towards finishing her blacksmith apprenticeship.
Rosita’s interests lie in learning and re-learning the skills which AI and technology are challenging and in some cases, forgetting as a people. Traditional techniques and local knowledge play a paramount role in societies across the world, and Rosita wants to promote these and encourage individual making and creating with our hands.
