Here's why we've decided not to do Clearing

Choosing where you’d like to go to university is a life–defining decision. And one that we believe requires careful consideration and shouldn’t be decided by a five-minute telephone call.
Our approach
That’s why, from the start, we decided to design our own admissions process that’s separate from UCAS. It’s also why we made a commitment to interview all applicants; we want to get to know you and how you think. This is a crucial step in allowing us to go beyond grades. And one we’re not going to change for clearing.
Our admissions process has been carefully designed to place individuals in context. When reviewing your application, we consider what you’ve achieved given your starting point in life. We want to understand your academic capability and potential; your interests and motivations; along with your personal, educational, and family background. In other words, your story. Considering COVID-19 and the current education climate, we think it is even more important to see applicants as wholly unique individuals rather than a series of percentages, or three letters on a page.
Our undergraduate degree is academically rigorous and won’t be for everyone. But if you’re excited to engage in challenging classes, develop meaningful outputs with your peers, and help build a new kind of university experience, then LIS may be the right choice for you.
There’s still time…
If you’d like to be considered for our founding cohort, there’s still time to apply before our final admissions round closes on Friday 30th July. Places are competitive and, again, we don’t do clearing.
You can find out more on our admissions page and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email admissions@t-lis.org or give us a call on 0203 409 1912.
