Professor Neil Lindsay
Chief Scientist, the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL)
Neil is a Chief Scientist at the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL) the organisation providing scientific and technical support to the Ministry of Defence. Neil has worked extensively across Government and has developed innovative systems-based techniques to understand and to counter complex enterprises and threats, supporting a range of UK operational commitments overseas.
Neil will be facilitating a workshop designed to explore how systems thinking can be used to tackle a hypothetical domestic security threat. Following the workshop Neil will spend time giving insight and real-world examples of how the UK tackled casualty rates resulting from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Afghanistan.
